Last night we were super lucky to be included at The Outfit Exchange, held at our neighbouring Ocean Studios, The Royal William Yard.
Hosted by Rosie and Leah the event allowed people to pop along and Swap clothing, shop mindfully and purchase good quality garments that were destined for waste.
We set up a little YOKE table and chatted to peeps about how we are doing everything we can to be a sustainable salon, as well as creating some sweet braids.
The ‘second-chance’ shop featured some stunning branded items, donated by local fashion businesses like Xcel wetsuits, Flatspot, Wills Bees bespoke, Old Harry and Sanchos, that lucky shoppers picked up at bargain prices.
The event had a real focus on Sustainability in the Fashion world and guest speaker Irene Griffin expressed her thoughts on the industry and what we can do as individuals to shop mindfully.
Irene is the Technical director at Falmouth Art College and she is currently working on designing a Sensibility for Sustainable clothing project at the Exeter University Environment and Sustainability Institute.

Just to make everyone feel better about their new purchase all of the proceeds are to be donated to Friends of the Earth.
BIG thanks to Rosie & Leah for letting us be there.
