Focus on Sustainability – Biodegradable towels

In one of our efforts to keep our energy and water usage down we decided to go down the route of using disposable towels.

I know ‘disposable’ is a bit of a dirty word but actually the towels we use at YOKE are 100% biodegradable and will even compost after about 14 days if buried in the ground!

After plenty of research I decided that Simplydry where the right option for us as there were a number of points putting them top of the list for me:

Simplydry uses no bleach, no pesticides and no nasties – making them perfect for sensitive skin.

They save upto 40% on water and electricity used during laundering of regular towels.

Simplydry are made in the UK, therefore keeping their Carbon Footprint in check!

The towels are made from 100% Bamboo and are 100% biodegradable and can even be composted.

Simplydry achieves 10-15% MORE absorbency than other brands on the market.

Simplydry matches traditional towels for size and experience.

Here’s a bit about how awesome bamboo is….

“It’s the fastest growing plant in the world and can grow 1-to-4 inches in a day and regrows quickly after being cut down, making it the No. 1 renewable resource. Since the plant’s health is improved by cutting, bamboo can be re-harvested every three years without any harmful effects on the environment. Can bamboo save the planet? The answer to that question remains to be seen. But this amazing plant and its surging popularity in a huge variety of products offers mankind a chance to enjoy many of the comforts of modern life without causing irreparable damage to our environment.”
