On Sunday I headed over to Barcelona with the rest of the ID Artist team to get an insight into The L’Oreal Colour Trophy 2019 tour. As part of the ID artist programme we are working backstage during the Semi finals to produce the guest artists show. This is a huge accolade for all the ID artist as it means we get to work on something totally inspirational and with an amazing team.
After getting in a quick bit of sightseeing we all headed to The L’Oreal academy to meet the L’Oreal pro team and the guest artists that were creating the show during the Colour Trophy tour. After a few welcome drinks and canapes (I definitely picked the wrong time to be pregnant) we headed to watch the show and finally find out who this years artist were going to be.
As usual L’Oreal did not disappoint with such a huge smorgasbord of insanely talented top artists under it’s umbrella we were introduced to Jason Hall and Susan Curruthers from Jason Hall Hairdressing Edinburgh.
Jason is a serious regular on the Fashion circuit travelling to Paris, Milan, London and New York during Fashion season to head up the hair styling on the runways. As a member of the British Hairdressing Fellowship team, Jason’s creative excellence is world renowned so it was an awesome surprise to have him mentor us for the next few days.
The evenings presentation gave us an idea of the concept behind the show for Colour Trophy and then the next day we all headed back to the academy to work with Jason and Susan creating looks to use and recreate during the shows. This is were I have to be a bit vague as the show is surprise for all the contestants and spectators during the tour.
